The Universal Photographic Digital Imaging Guidelines (UPDIG) is a comprehensive tool for photographers, graphic designers, art directors and publishers to use for communicating technical specifications. UPDIG serves as a source for tried-and-true best practices as well as a starting point for technical discussions between visual artists and clients.
RGB Imaging is a strong supporter of UPDIG and has helped individual photographers incorporate UPDIG into their workflow, and university-level photography programs update their curriculum to reflect the UPDIG standard.
